Summary
During this two-day course, attendees gain the knowledge necessary to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) and its underlying principles derived from Lean, systems thinking, Agile development, product development flow, and DevOps. Participants in the class gain insights into mastering business agility to thrive in competitive markets. They discuss how to establish a team and technical agility and organize and re-organize around the flow of value. Attendees also learn and practice the skills to support and execute PI Planning events and coordinate multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs). Class participants will explore the importance of adopting a customer-centric mindset and a Design-Thinking approach to Agile Product Delivery. Learners will also understand how to implement a Lean Portfolio Management function within their enterprise.
Exam Details
- Exam name – SAFe® 4 Agilist Exam – or – SAFe® 5 Agilist Exam
- Exam format – Multiple choice
- Exam delivery – Web-based (single-browser), closed book, no outside assistance, timed
- Exam access – Candidates can access the exam within the SAFe Community Platform upon completion of the Leading SAFe® course
Exam duration – Once the exam begins, candidates have 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to complete the exam - Number of questions: 45
- Passing score :
SA4 = 34 out of 45 (75%); SA5 = 35 out of 45 (77%) - Language – English
- Exam cost – First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake attempt costs $50.
- Retake policy – Second attempt on exam (first retake) can be done immediately after the first attempt. The third attempt requires a 10-day wait. The fourth attempt requires a 30-day wait.

Steps to become a SAFe® Agilist
Step 1: Follow the easy steps to register on American Technology Consulting, a Gold training partner of Scaled Agile, Inc. (Scaled Agile)
Step 2: Take the 2-day Leading SAFe® 5.0 course instructed by SAFe® Program Consultants (SPCs).
Step 3: Scaled Agile will send you the exam information directly on successful completion of the course.
Step 4: Click on the link received from Scaled Agile and take the 1.5 hours “SAFe 5 Agilist Exam” online test which comprises 45 MCQs.
Step 5: Score a minimum of 77% (35 out of 45) to pass the SAFe® Agilist test.
Step 6: Scaled Agile will update your profile to disclose the certification, after passing the exam.
Step 7: You will receive 1-year membership with Scaled Agile along with the certification.
Step 8: You have to renew the certification every year.

#1 What is the annual renewal fee?
- Certifications expire one year from the date the certification is earned.
- The renewal fee is $100
#2 What about Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum educational units?
- Attendees may be eligible to apply for 15 PDUs toward their continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP, PgMP, and PMI-ACP certifications. Also, attendees may be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing their CSP through Scrum Alliance.
#3 What is the cancellation policy on this?
In order to provide the most experienced instructors and a superior classroom environment, we must ask you to adhere to our cancellation policy. If it is necessary to cancel or reschedule this registration, please notify us immediately. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
- A full refund can be claimed 15 days prior to the class start date.
- No refund will be allowed within 14 days from the class start date, however, students may reschedule to another class within one year of the cancellation date.
- No reschedules allowed within 7 business days unless its an unforeseen circumstances.
- In the event any cancellation occurred due to low enrollment or unforeseen natural events, ATC will issue a 100% refund.
#4 What does the SAFe Certification Kit consists of?
Attendees who pass the certification exam will receive:
- SAFe Agilist certificate
- A SAFe 5 Agilist digital badge to promote your accomplishment online
- A one-year certified membership as a SAFe Agilist, which includes access to the SA Community of Practice
- A SAFe Agilist certification usage guide with SA certification marks
